Life before TCB was a constant battle. As the sole provider for my family, unemployment was a heavy burden. Child grant and maintenance were simply not enough to meet our needs.
The stress was overwhelming, leaving me emotionally drained and helpless, even leading to feelings of despair at times. There were nights we went hungry, and I was too ashamed to ask for help from anyone. Looking back, I remember relying on a boyfriend solely for financial support, something I never wanted to do.
A turning point
Joining TCB was a life-changer. Now, I can finally put food on the table without the anxiety of empty cupboards. It’s a sense of independence I never thought possible. More importantly, I can provide for my children and family in a way I couldn’t before.
TCB didn’t just provide income; it equipped me with the skills to manage a business. While there are challenges, I now have the knowledge and confidence to overcome them. The profits from selling TCB clothing have even allowed me to join two Stokvels. I have a dedicated stall for my clothes and I’m already planning my second business venture.
Empowered and self-sufficient
TCB has instilled a valuable lesson: I don’t have to shoulder this alone. But more importantly, it’s shown me the power of taking initiative.
Now, I know that if I don’t get up and build my own future, no one will do it for me. TCB has equipped me with the tools and confidence to become financially independent and create a better life for myself and my family.
