PRESS RELEASE – Bridging UK Generosity with South African Impact: Introducing Taking Care of Business UK

Taking Care of Business (TCB) is happy to announce the launch of Taking Care of Business UK (TCB UK) – a fully independent UK-registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) committed to supporting high-impact poverty relief initiatives in South Africa

This exciting development creates a trusted and tax-efficient way for UK-based donors, philanthropic trusts, and organisations to invest in proven South African programmes that empower women entrepreneurs and provide quality early learning opportunities for children.

A Trusted Channel for Change

South Africa faces immense social and economic challenges, and scalable solutions often struggle to secure sufficient funding. At the same time, many UK citizens, expatriate South Africans, and UK organisations are eager to give back but need a credible channel to do so.

TCB UK bridges this gap by providing:

  • Trusted governance and oversight: Every pound is managed with transparency, backed by an independent board, audited financials, and robust monitoring systems.
  • Gift Aid eligibility: Donations from UK taxpayers can stretch even further, with an additional 25% added to eligible gifts.
  • Investment in proven solutions: Funds go directly to impactful, proven programmes that empower women entrepreneurs and uplift families.

First Priority: Supporting Early Learning Social Entrepreneurship

The first fundraising campaign of TCB UK will support Grow ECD, an impactful early childhood development organisation in South Africa. Grow ECD equips women-led preschools in low-income communities with training, mentorship, and resources to deliver high-quality education to children while creating dignified employment opportunities.

Through their 3-year Small Business Programme, preschool owners receive step-by-step business and education support, including financial management training, mentorship, and access to quality education resources and support. This holistic, full-service model ensures that children receive quality early education and that women entrepreneurs can run financially sustainable preschools.

Small Grants, Big Impact

Even modest donations from UK supporters can create powerful change thanks to the favourable exchange rate. For example, £4,1500 grant can fully support a preschool for a year, improving outcomes for at least 40 children, their teachers, and local families. UK taxpayers that want to make a different every month can sign up to donate £8 monthly, which will ensure a child gets a quality education throughout the year.

A New Chapter of Impact

“TCB UK is more than a fundraising body – it’s a bridge between UK generosity and African impact,” says Tracey Chambers, CEO and co-founder of TCB. “This new chapter strengthens our ability to scale solutions that transform lives in South Africa and creates new opportunities for global partnerships.”
