Ayabonga Mjekula: A Taking Care of Business Success Story | Resell Programme (East London)
Life at 31 wasn’t easy. Growing up in a difficult situation left me feeling wounded, bitter, and broken. Despite working hard, I felt hopeless and jobless. Supporting my two wonderful children was a constant struggle, especially with an absent father. The child support grant of R350 and small business income barely kept us afloat. My lack of confidence often led me to give up easily, especially when faced with negative comments and limited business knowledge. The vicious cycle of self-doubt and poor financial management left me stuck.
Business money became a means to support my family, leaving me with no resources to truly grow my venture.
Then, a ray of hope emerged. Someone at church introduced me to TCB. The idea of a positive change ignited a spark within me. I envisioned myself – a successful young businesswoman, finally able to provide the life my children deserved.

Discovering my wings
Two months at TCB have been transformative. They’ve helped me rediscover myself and my capabilities. Discipline and self-belief have become my guiding principles. I no longer listen to negativity. Like an eagle, I see a limitless horizon, soaring high without fear.
TCB has been a true blessing. It’s a constant reminder that I hold the key to my future success. The program has instilled strength and wisdom in me, allowing me to make sound decisions for myself and my family. Mentors, coaches, facilitators, and counsellors have all played a crucial role in my journey. They’ve shown me compassion, helped me heal, and instilled the principle of “a healthy heart produces a successful business.” This motto guides me towards peace and discipline.
Organised and driven

TCB has equipped me with vital organisational skills. As a dedicated TCB representative, I approach my business with diligence and commitment. Hard work and dedication are no longer strangers – I invest time in my venture and manage my finances with joy and peace. TCB is more than a program; it’s my second family. Every moment spent here is filled with joy. They’ve nurtured a special place in my heart. Today, I can finally care for my family and children with pride.
Giving back and soaring higher
Gratitude fuels my commitment to TCB. I strive to give back as much as I’ve received. My efforts have paid off. In just one month, I surpassed my target with a staggering R7,565 in sales! This accomplishment, along with the Businesswoman of the Month award, has filled me with immense motivation. My heart overflows with gratitude for being part of the TCB family. The future holds immense promise, and I’m ready to keep soaring!
