Vuyani Manciya: A Taking Care of Business Success Story | Repair Programme (Cape Town)
My name is Vuyani Manciya. I started with TCB in February 2023.
After completing matric, I studied computers, earning certifications such as A-PLUS, MCSE, and SILVER PLUS. I worked in the IT industry while always looking for other opportunities to keep developing myself and building my future.
When I joined the TCB Repair Programme, my life turned around. I learned how to bring value to my family, contribute to my community, start my own business, be responsible with money, and become a better father.
TCB has a training programme called ‘Fathers Matter,’ which made a big impact on me. It teaches you about being a man and a good father. Now, I have a better way of communicating with my family and kids, and it has brought a new perspective to our lives.
TCB changed my life. I used to be someone who was unsure about life, hesitant, and not confident. Now, I am different.
I have more dignity and respect in my community. I can contribute at home and provide for my kids. I am a businessman now, making a positive contribution to my community. TCB has made me more open-minded, and I still want to learn so much more!
My advice to others is that in business, you must commit yourself fully. You need resilience and zeal. If you push yourself, you will succeed, but if you are lazy, you will lose opportunities. Go out there and take a leap of faith!
Your contribution, no matter the size, fuels our mission to empower individuals to become self-sufficient and successful business owners to build a better future for themselves and their families. Donate now.
Taking Care of Business (TCB) is a nonprofit social enterprise. We are empowering unemployed South Africans and their families to escape the cycle of poverty through small business opportunities, mostly within the circular economy.
